FaceTime Newborn and Maternity Photoshoots
So I have been relatively quiet for the last 5/6 weeks pondering how I can possibly carry on during these times doing what I love and capturing memories for people. Covid 19 has really changed our lives and forced many of us to think creatively and outside the box in order to continue in our jobs.
I had came across some photographers around the uk and world doing some really amazing creative portraits via FaceTime and was so intrigued as to how they were achieving this and with such amazing results. I spent time researching and reaching out to these photographers and put together a game plan on how I could transfer these skills to newborn photography. My husband and friends thought I was mad. Fast forward a week or so and I did my first FaceTime session with Kerri and Elliot and their gorgeous new baby boy Oliver. It was a success and we managed to capture some absolutely beautiful memories. It was strange directing them through their phone and my laptop but I soon found my flow and treated it as a normal session, as if I was there.
Being 20 odd weeks pregnant myself I really feel for the new mums and dads during this time. Yes the most important thing in all of this is that their baby arrives safely and healthy but its such a fleeting time having a newborn baby and those early days are just so special. I just love that technology and creativity have inspired me to create a keepsake for many people not just locally but all around the world.
