Baby Photography Glasgow In Home Newborn Session with Juniper

Baby Photography Glasgow - Juniper

There’s a bit of an interesting back story to this family and newborn session. This was the second time I’d met Kelsey and Ewan in person, but it was the third shoot I’d done with them. Sounds bizarre I know! I’d actually first met Kelsey and Ewan over FaceTime during lockdown. I started doing FaceTime portraits when we weren’t allowed to leave the house. These are exactly as they sound, a portrait shoot where I essentially take pictures through FaceTime. I loved doing those, but nothing beats being around other people in real life.

So, I’d captured a maternity shoot for them over FaceTime. That bump was their wee boy Athel. Once lockdown was over and done with, I visited them for his newborn shoot. At that point he was just a few weeks old. Now I was back again to photograph the beautiful Juniper, their newborn daughter. Of course, big brother Athel had to get in on the action too!

This was a family session, although centred around Juniper. Athel was the perfect big brother, but very much stole the show at points. He’s such a cheeky wee character and it was lovely to see him again and marvel at how much he’s grown!

While his mummy fed Juniper, Athel snuggled up and read a book to her. He loved pointing out all the pictures to his baby sister. To let Juniper feed in peace I took Athel and his Dad off for some photos. Athel was giggling away as he was tipped upside down and tickled. What a joy he is!

Once Juniper was fed - and I had taken some lovely, intimate pictures of her breastfeeding -  the four of them snuggled up on the bed and I got some beautiful family portraits. There were more tickles for Athel which he loved! Then it was time to concentrate on the main lady, little Juniper. She was sleeping peacefully so I took pictures of her cuddled up to her mummy and daddy. I love capturing the little details, her curled up fingers and teeny tiny toes. Just adorable!

I absolutely love capturing these moments for a family. Those early newborn days pass in a blur - even when you’re doing it for the second time - and it’s so wonderful to preserve those memories.
