Meet Cilian, and his best friend Pippa the dog! 

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect newborn photography session - cute baby? Check! Adorable dog? Check! Fab mum and dad? Check! What a win! 

I had photographed Chloe and Chance’s wedding back in 2019 at the Lochside Hotel. The day was an absolute belter (a wee nod to the t-shirt Chance got Chloe on their wedding morning!) and I was so looking forward to catching up with them and meeting the new additions to their family.

My newborn photography Glasgow shoots are relaxed, laidback and completely led by baby. They take place in the family home so that everyone is nice and comfortable and the absolute pile of stuff that a newborn needs is right there on hand. Honestly, if you’re pregnant and reading this don’t underestimate the amount of ‘things’ that teeny little baby will need whenever you go out anywhere! 

As you’ve probably guessed, Pippa was involved in a lot of the shoot. I’m unashamedly a complete and utter dog lover so I couldn’t not have her in the photos. She became part of the family just a few months before Cilian was born but has settled in so well and absolutely adores her new buddy. 

The shoot was all about Cilian, of course, but I also love capturing the connections in a new family. Especially those moments between parents and their newborn. There were a lot of snuggles with Mum and Dad and I made full use of the gorgeous window light that was streaming in. 

Who can resist tiny fingers and toes? I know I can’t! I always make sure to capture all those details, from the scrunched up fingers to the curled up toes and Cilian’s magnificent head of hair.  I know the photos of those details will take Chance and Chloe right back to those early days with Cilian whenever they look at them.

Before you scroll down to the cute photos of Cilian I just want to make a note about at home shoots. I find myself repeating this a lot whenever I talk about newborn shoots but it really does need to be said. 

Don’t worry about how messy your house is. I promise it won’t show on your photos. 

Honestly, I get it. You’re in a brand new bubble of newborn happiness. You don’t want or have time to be tidying up and that’s ok. In fact, it’s more than ok, you should be sat on the sofa enjoying the cuddles instead of running around with a hoover! I certainly won’t be judging anyone and anything that’s out can be hidden from the photos. So please don’t let that put you off booking in for a newborn shoot.
